BCSD Portugal
The Business Council for Sustainable Development (BCSD) Portugal is a non-profit association that brings together and represents over 140 leading companies in Portugal that are actively committed to the transition to sustainability. Its mission is to assist its member companies in their journey towards sustainability, promoting positive impact for stakeholders, society and the environment.
JUNIOR ACHIEVMENT
For the past decade, ManpowerGroup has collaborated globally with Junior Achievement (JA), a foundation dedicated to developing the entrepreneurial spirit of young people through corporate and education volunteer programs. ManpowerGroup is part of the jury of the national competition “Company Programme“, accompanying JA in the process of selecting the projects that reach the final. The Company Programme is aimed at students in secondary school, high school and vocational courses who, through a real life experience, learn to create and manage their own company, and to acquire skills and abilities necessary for both their professional and personal future. ManpowerGroup delivers the Ready for Work award as part of this competition.
Portuguese Charter for Diversity - APPDI
ManpowerGroup Portugal signed the Portuguese Charter for Diversity in 2020, a tool that encourages employers to implement and develop internal policies and practices to promote diversity. The Charter for Diversity is an initiative of the European Union, promoted in Portugal by the Portuguese Association for Diversity and Inclusion. It is signed voluntarily by employers from various sectors (public, private for-profit and non-profit), and describes concrete measures to promote diversity and equal opportunities at work, regardless of cultural, ethnic and social origin, sexual orientation, gender, age, physical characteristics, personal style and religion.
In addition, ManpowerGroup is a global strategic partner of numerous organizations with which it also collaborates to contribute to the overall economic and social development.
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
ManpowerGroup actively supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those to which we as a company are committed: Quality Education (4), Gender Equality (5), Decent Work and Economic Growth (8), Reducing Inequalities (10), Climate Action (13), and Partnerships to Achieve the Goals (17).
TENT
ManpowerGroup is part of the Tent Coalition for Refugees in the U.S. Our collaboration focuses on finding career and development opportunities for refugees across the country. In addition, on a global scale, we also participate in the Sunflower Project, Tent's initiative to accelerate the economic inclusion of Ukrainian refugee women in Europe through improved access to employment.
UNITED NATIONS GLOBAL COMPACT
As an active participant in the United Nations Global Compact, ManpowerGroup globally has publicly declared our support and respect for human rights.
WORLD BUSINESS COUNCIL FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
ManpowerGroup is a member of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). This membership allows us to collaborate with other organizations committed to accelerating impact in all three ESG pillars (environmental, social and governance), with a particular focus on the social elements, by providing support to companies to foster diverse teams and create new jobs.
WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM
ManpowerGroup has been a strategic partner of the World Economic Forum for two decades, participating in events, meetings, debates and global communities. ManpowerGroup is also present at the annual meeting of the Davos Forum, where it joins business and political leaders to discuss the trends in the world of work.
WORLD EMPLOYMENT CONFEDERATION
ManpowerGroup is a member of the World Employment Confederation and supports, promotes and complies with the core conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO), ensuring the highest standards of quality and ethical conduct in recruitment processes as well as fair employment practices.
